Hi, I’m Mariah.

Nice to meet you.

About Me

Mariah Hutchinson, LPCC, ATR

I am a white, queer, ciswoman from the Midwest; an artist and therapist passionate about all things process. In both my art practice and my work as a collaborator in therapy I believe that creativity, curiosity, and imagining ourselves into the world and lives we want is essential. My life and work is oriented from a trauma informed, intersectional feminist, anti-racist, liberation for all perspective and I am a HAES, fat liberation oriented therapist. My therapy practice is grounded in attachment theory, narrative therapy, and somatic and mindfulness practices. I am an art therapist and love working with folks to utilize this modality in therapy, though I am just as eager to bring creativity into talk therapy and somatic therapy.

My pronouns are she/her/hers. Feel free to tell me yours!

My experience includes working with adults of all ages wanting to find meaning amongst the intersection of gender, sexuality, race, culture, and spirituality. My experience includes a deep commitment to working with queer and trans folks and the broader LGBTQIA+ community. I work with adults exploring gender and sexuality, desire and pleasure related concerns, and the various relationships these are expressed within, including non-monogamy. Additionally, I love supporting folks who have experienced trauma, and who are living with what gets called anxiety, depression, bipolar, and a range of life transition challenges. I love working with folks who are interested in collaboration and the process of therapy, and want to get creative and curious with support from a therapist.

What I will bring to our work together, along with my creativity, curiosity and playfulness, is many years of walking alongside and supporting people of all ages, genders, and cultures, an ongoing interest and pursuit of knowledge about our whole self—how to listen in to our bodies, the knowledge it has and is always trying to communicate with us, and how this is in conversation with our minds and our spirits. And laughter. You can count on laughter being close by to support us in moving through hard and joyful moments.
